Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust

Founded in 1946, the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, recognised by most as WWT, is one of the leading wetland conservation charities in Britain and DigiTickets has been proud to support their ticketing requirements for several years.

With ten wetland sites across the UK, WWT’s requirements for ticketing are based on a multi-site process, with a seamless customer journey for each location.

Multiple Branches

A key component for WWT was to cater for their individual sites across the country, whilst ensuring that all the sites were branded to the organisations’ core theme and making sure this was clearly identifiable once leaving the main WWT website. In fact, customers hardly notice they're taken to a separate ticketing page! WWT also took advantage of customisable individual theming for each location using our intuitive Back Office, by adding bespoke imagery and copy to each site. The aim was to create a direct experience for each centre, but to keep them tied together and therefore easy to manage from a central location.

Using our unique branches module for multiple sites, the administration team at WWT are able to easily switch between sites in our powerful Back Office, meaning they don't need multiple log-ins! Using this feature makes running an attraction, (or several!), much easier to manage.

The initial set-up included General Admission for multiple branches as well as incorporating membership ticketing by using customisable checkout fields to ensure membership numbers were recorded if necessary. Their set-up also developed into an extensive special events program across key sites, including Lectures, Bat Walks and Courses. They also took advantage of the DigiTickets functionality to operate their corporate bookings through the system.

Corporate Partnerships

Managing groups and private bookings can be pretty tricky, especially if you don’t have a system that can handle both public bookings and private ones. WWT take advantage of our hidden category feature, meaning they can allow booking by corporate customers without worrying about the general public having access to this area.

With these features and more, the WWT team are able to have ultimate flexibility over their ticketing sales. The DigiTickets system has been designed with flexibility as a core principle, allowing users to implement features in a range of different ways depending on their requirements.

After Go-Live

After their site went live, WWT and DigiTickets' relationship has continued to grow with assistance from their Client Relationship Manager and Support Team. In-depth training was provided so that they could manage their branch set up as well as report on individual site sales.
